Dysfunctional council

Ministers have intervened to take control of Doncaster
Council after it was described as (ailing and
dysfunctional in a damning Audit Commission report.
According to the report, councillors and officials
failed to run the council
properly, and were more interested in political
feuding than in providing good services. In January,
the council's children's services department issued
an apology for the failures thai led to two boys, who
were in the care of the council, carrying out a
sadislic assault on two other children in the village
of Edlington.
