Good week for:

Expats, who really do find die grass greener. According in a new
survey, nine out of ten Britons working abroad believe their
quality* of life has improved as a result of leaving Blighty. Fewer
than two in ten expect ever to come home again.


The Scout Association, which has seen its biggest surge in
membership in 38 years. Total UK membership now stands at
500,000, and includes 65,000 teenagers - a rise of more than
26% since 2001.


Simon Singh, die science writer, after the British Chiropractic
Association (BCA) dropped its libel action against him. Singh was
sued by the BCA after he wrote that the organisation promoted
"bogus treatments" - such as for childhood asthma - that were
not supported by evidence. Defending the claim cost him more
[ban £200,000 that he will not fully recover.
